1) Telegram: End-to-end encryption can be optionally enabled in single chats, but this feature is disabled by default and neither available in group chats nor compatible with parallel use of the service on multiple devices.

2) For example, Signal doesn’t comply with GDPR’s Articles 27 and 28.

3) WhatsApp Business isn’t intended for internal corporate communication but for the communication between small businesses and their customers.

4) There’s no transparency report specifically for WhatsApp, but parent company Meta publishes a company-wide one.

5) Signal’s transparency report seems to be grossly incomplete and/or badly out of date.

6) Telegram's regional transparency report is only accessible via the Telegram app and does, for example, not provide any results for Switzerland, which is highly dubious given the size of Telegram’s user base.

7) The CLOUD Act entitles US authorities to access data from US IT service providers (even if the data is not stored in the US).
